“Why have we displayed an Advent Tree for you to see? Well, I’m glad you asked, please read on…”
In this ever-changing world I think we can agree, we all need a little more love, joy, peace, and hope. But they seem so hard to find.
This season is called Advent. Traditionally, it was a time to fast and reflect, now we enjoy opening a daily countdown calendar and enjoying a chocolate treat. Each week the gifts of love, joy, peace, and hope were remembered by lighting a candle. A season to prepare ourselves and look forward to the arrival of Jesus: The Light of the World.
Known as the Way, the Truth, and the Life, this Light would show the world true love, joy, peace, and hope.
JOY
Incomprehensible joy that can’t be suppressed, rising to give strength to face the challenges of life.
LOVE
Lavish love, extended to all, regardless of merit. Love strong enough to demolish walls that separate and build bridges that unite.
HOPE
Inspiration to endure, encouragement to look up and motivation to press on toward a better day.
PEACE
Deep internal contentment overcoming our need to compare and compete.
So, why did we put this home-made decoration up for you to see? To help you find what we all truly need this Christmas: authentic love, joy, peace and hope for you, your family and community. Free gifts from the Giver of all good gifts. If we can help, please get in touch.
Perhaps, as we receive and nurture these gifts in our own lives, and share them with others this Advent, together we can begin to change our world
